Here’s what our customers are saying about Perennial Pleasures…

Heather has given us a garden that complements our home and our lifestyle beautifully. She was very sensitive to our preferences in plant type and blossom colour. We particularly like her balance of cultured and native plant choices. We enjoy our garden immensely in every season of the year.

Heather at Perennial Pleasures is our go-to for our garden design, implementation, and maintenance.  Her creative vision has transformed our yard from bleak and plain to a textured, colourful landscape.  We appreciate how Heather uses native species and natural means to invite birds and butterflies and minimize pests.  She is also very considerate of not wasting plants: Heather is resourceful and takes the time to save plants that need dividing; this helps both her clients and the environment. We are so fortunate to have Heather bring her passion to our landscape.

Heather and her team have transformed our very mature streamside garden from an overgrown jungle into an inviting area that we can enjoy, while being sensitive to the fact that our garden is next too and includes a riparian zone and salmon bearing stream. We have full confidence that plants and supplies used in the garden are in keeping with organic practices

Inspired by the concept of a pollinators’ garden, to appeal to our young children and our love of nature, Heather transformed our front yard from a small plain strip of lawn into a beautiful oasis, with year-round interest and plantings that attract bees, hummingbirds and butterflies.  To increase privacy from the street, she contoured the sloping yard vertically and carefully selected trees, shrubs and plants to provide visual interest in the natural sight-lines.  The arbour she designed, provides an impressive entry-way and focal point to the garden.  Heather’s design creativity also included a dry pond to solve the challenge of a naturally damp shady area.  We are very proud of the unique garden Heather created for us and love what it has done to enhance the beauty of our home and neighborhood

Over the years Heather has helped us make changes to keep our garden evolving to adapt to both our needs and environmental changes. It has become a colorful, healthy sanctuary to many species of birds and pollinators. It is a source of joy and inspiration and a space where we enjoy entertaining and spending time in nature

Tired of grass or lawn mowers? Chafer Beetles got you down? Heather helped us find a whole new approach with both hard and soft landscape features, and seasonally evolving surprises. A perennial ground cover garden is a thing of beauty and fascination as flowers bloom, grasses entertain, and hordes of busy bees come and go. While enjoying our new front garden, we never fail to get comments and compliments from passing neighbours, no matter the season. Heather has kept up her contact with us, a garden professional and a new friend. Highly recommended.

Heather helped us create a beautiful garden that demands little time and water and is full of beautiful west coast native plants. We’re very happy with the way it turned out!

Heather has transformed our garden into a beautiful welcoming, easily maintained environment that welcomes many of our local birds and butterflies.  We are happy knowing these wild creatures can enjoy our garden without risk of pesticide poisoning!   It was not just our garden that has been transformed, but also our attitude towards gardening. We learned that – when you do it right the first time – the maintenance is so much easier.

It was a real pleasure working with Heather. She was able to distill our long garden wish-lists into a detailed and creative design that incorporated many sustainable aspects we had not considered, like rain water collection and perennial fruit plants. She oversaw the implementation of the design and was able to create our dream garden from scratch under budget and on time.
